2010 PNW Bowfishing Championship
Father's Day Weekend
June 19 & 20, 2010
Lots of cash and prizes to be given away!
Moses Lake is a tremendous lake for a Bowfishing tournament. Here are some historical examples of how many fish are available to shoot:
- 2005 total tournament weight 13,058 lbs with 28 teams competing.
- 2006 total tournament weight 19,232 lbs with 32 teams competing.
- 2007 total tournament weight 10,105 lbs with 37 teams competing.
- 2008 total tournament weight 30,241 lbs with 26 teams competing.
- 2009 total tournament weight 8,435 lbs with 31 teams competing.
Lower number years are usually due to wind or cloud cover but don’t be mistaken on a low number year we are still yielding more poundage than many other tournaments.
Fun fact: by crunching a few numbers for a great year with prime conditions some of our teams are landing a fish every three minutes, continuously, for 16 hours straight. That’s not including misses!
This is a BAA Sanctioned tournament.
Payouts are based on numbers of contestants but 1st prize is typically $1000 or more. Payouts usually go down to 8th or 10th place.
Additional prized are:
- Joe average – Closest weight to the Total tournament weight divided by total number of teams. Award is normally a pair of matching bows. (Depends on how sponsors treat us)
- Most improved - $100 (Awarded the team who have the largest weight increase from Saturday to Sunday)
- Toilet award - $100 (Toilet award is given to the team who shoots the lowest weight of the tournament)
- Bridesmaides - Free Entry for following years tournament (awarded to the first team out of the money, ie. 1st thru 10th place receive cash payouts, 11th place becomes the bridesmaids)
- Big fish each day - Largest fish on Saturday and Largest fish on Sunday are each awarded a cash prize. (24 – 30lbs is the average big fish)
- Raffle - We also put on a raffle and draw for thousands of dollars of sponsor donated merchandise. The proceeds help cover tournament expenses and then add to the tournament payouts.
